The Dinitrogen Fixation in Hydroxides Systems of Some Transitional Metals

Abstract:

The optimum reaction conditions for N2H4 and NH3 formation by reducing the molecular nitrogen on mixed hydroxides of Cr(II) - Mo(III) - Ti(III); Cr(II) - Mo(III) - Mg(II) and Cr(II) - Mo(III) - Ti(III) - Mg(II) have been determined. Although the catalytic activity of the systems disappears after 40 min, 7.71 x 10-5 moles N2H4 /L and 4.54 x 10-3 moles NH3 /L of reaction mixture have been obtained. These values are higher at least by one order of magnitude then in the case of other similar systems. Keywords: nitrogen fixation, mixed hydroxides, catalytic activity
