Quantitative Determination of Axerophtol Contents from Pharmaceutical Products

Abstract:

In this paper there are presented the research results concerning the establishing of the optimal work conditions for the determination of the axerophtol (C20H30O) from children multivitamine syrup samples by high performance liquid chromatography. It was used a RP-18 type chromatographic column (ODS), d=125 mm, ?=4mm, 5µm. As a mobile phase, a methanol: water (98:2) mixture was used. The detection was performed at a wavelenght of ? =280 mm for a 20 µL injection volume with a 2 mL/min flow rate. The method was succesfully applied in determining the axerophtol content in Pikovit and Mixavit syrup and it was validated. The proposed method is quick, reproductible and accurate, being characterized by a linearity range of 20 U.I. / mL - 60 U.I./mL, by a retrieving degree of 99,28% t-0,42Y, as well as good values of reproductibility and repetability of 1,2%, 0,2% respectively.
